    ABSTRACT:

Acer ginnala (Aceraceae) is a multipurpose shrub with significant economic and ecological value in China. Considering the fact that various natural and anthropogenic pressures might bring about serious influences to morphological diversity of Acer ginnala. In this context, thirty-four phenotypic traits were analyzed to explore the phenotypic variation and pattern of 19 Acer ginnala populations by principal component analysis (PCA), nested analysis and cluster analysis. A correlations between phenotypic traits and environment factors were used pearson's correlation coefficient. The results showed that phenotypic traits were significantly different among 19 populations. Phenotypic variation coefficient (CV) and Shannon-Wiener index (HSW) were 23.53% and 5.22 respectively. The phenotypic differentiation coefficient (Vst) among populations was 56.996%, which was more than that of within populations (43.004%). The total of four principal components was 87.30% in principal component analysis. Nineteen A. ginnala populations were divided into two groups based on cluster analysis. Absolute high temperature and Annual average temperature were negative correlated to leaf length of A. ginnala, while Annual precipitation had a positive correlation with length/width ratio of leaf. Environmental factors would affect the phenotypic variation and pattern of A. ginnala populations.

    ABSTRACT:

Orange fruits are acidic fruit which contain healthy nutritional content that works wonders for the body. It acts as a fabulous source of vitamin c and a wide variety of essential nutrients required by the body. Fresh fruits and their hand-squeezed or industrially processed juices contain mostly flavonones and flavones 20, 21.Findings of experiments showed that pasteurization of juice in boiling water for 5mts is considered enough to better yield of alcohol as well as ascorbic acid retention .Time and temperature played important role in case of orange wine regarding alcohol yield and ascorbic retention.

This study was carried out to evaluate Tundub (Capparis decidua Pax) seed oil for different nutritional and industrial uses. The nutritional values were evaluated by measuring physicochemical properties, fatty acids profile and antioxidants of oil. The industrial value was evaluated by blending Tundub oil with sunflower oil for frying potato chips from oils in addition to sensory evaluation. The oil extracted from Tundub seeds has 1.485 refractive index, 21.34 cp viscosity, 0.91 relative density, 3.5% free fatty acids, 2.7meq/kg peroxide value (PV), 77.38 iodine value and 154.19 saponification value. The oil also contained the antioxidants and revealed the existence of unsaturated fatty acids in high quantities: oleic acid (50.69%), linoleic acid (13.5%) and arashidonic acid 1.89%, in addition to saturated fatty acids, palmitic acid (18.0%) and stearic acid (9.38%). Tundub oil was blended with refined sunflower oil in the ratio of 1:9. The blend and sunflower oil were used for frying potato chips at temperature of 160C° for a period of 1.5 hours, PV of each oil was determined every 15 minutes of frying time. In the end of period, sunflower oil had significantly (p≤0.05) higher PV (17.44meq/kg) than the blend oil (12.00meq/kg), also, oleic acid for blend oil had significantly higher (36.19meq/kg) than the refined sunflower oil. The panelists preferred the potatoes chips fried in blend oil.

This study was aimed to investigate the phytochemical constituents, antioxidant and anti cancer potential of Costus pictus D.Don leaf extracts. Three different solvents ethanol, petroleum ether and aqueous were used for extraction. Phytoconstituents of the extracts were analysed by standard methods. DPPH, FRAP and Total antoxidant activity are the methods used for investigation of antioxidant potential of different extracts of C.pictus leaves. Anti cancer potential of leaf extracts were studied against breast cancer cell lines (MCF-7). Phytochemical analysis revealed the presence of active ingredients such as Alkaloids, Steroids, Terpenoids, Glycosides, Tannins, Saponins, Phenols, Flavonoids and Proteins. The extracts had significant antioxidant and free radical scavenging activity. Treatment with ethanol, aqueous and petroleum ether extracts of Costus pictus leaf extracts decreased the growth rate and cell survival of MCF-7 cells. Our study suggests that bioactive compounds present in Costus pictus leaves could provide new leads to the development novel drugs for the management of oxidative stress related diseases.

We show results from b-learning strategy used to teach volume concept in high school for several geometric figure. We applied a conceptual volume test (pretest) and we found that high percentage of students had several misconception and low knowledge about prism and pyramids. We work with a control group (traditional) and, experimental group (b-learning); this methodology includes conceptual activities and use of Khan academy tool. Population was 50 students divided in two similar groups; distinction gender was no made. At the end of the course, we applied posttest; results indicate that Hake gain in experimental group (0.69) was larger than control group (0.45). In addition, hypothesis test for two sample indicate there are statistically differences between traditional and b-learning strategy which we can assume students in experimental group have better academic performance than students in control group (t=3.018>t_c=1.684).

    ABSTRACT:

Introduction: Bile duct injury is a severe and potentially life-threatening complication of laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Several series have described a 0.5% to 0.6% incidence of bile duct injury during laparoscopic cholecystectomy. The aim of this study was to analyze the presentation, characteristics, related investigation, and treatment results of major bile duct injuries after laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Case presentation: A case of a 35-year-old woman with a common bile duct injury after laparoscopic cholecystetcomy is presented. A Roux en Y hepaticojejunostomy was performed after endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatographies and magnetic resonance cholangiographies to delineate the biliary anatomy and assess the level of injury. She again underwent revision of hepaticojejunostomy 6 years after previous surgery for denovo stone formation. Conclusion: Early recognition and an adequate multidisciplinary approach are the cornerstones for the optimal final outcome. Suboptimal management of injuries often leads to more extensive damage to the biliary tree and its vasculature. Early referral to a tertiary care center with experienced hepatobiliary surgeons and skilled interventional radiologists would appear to be necessary to assure optimal results.

Dementia including Alzheimer is becoming a more significant problem in our society, which an increasing life expectancy; currently about 10% of the population develop some form of dementia during their lifetime. One form of dementia is Alzheimer that account for 50%-70% of the patients, which is characterized by the appearance of plaques and tangles in the brain that involves the aggregation of a protein named tau. Here, I propose that while tau indeed might be the underlying cause of Alzheimer, its initial aggregation could be a cellular repair-response to shearing of neuronal axons and that Alzheimer, and related tauopathies, are more likely due to inadequate removal of the aggregated protein.

Digital information and communication technologies have increased sex traffickers’ reach and anonymity, potential victims’ vulnerability, and buyers’ selection, driving an explosion in criminal human trafficking and exploitation. Addressing the need for public security in this domain requires the use of these technologies via data aggregation, analytics and computational forensics. Gathering and analyzing data in new ways will allow for a greater understanding of how sex trafficking is being performed in the digital world by providing insight into the modus operandi of sex traffickers, and providing valuable information about the victims themselves. This, in turn, will inform more effective public security responses and victim aid to these crimes.

    ABSTRACT:

Wound healing has been the burning problem in a surgical practice because of a remarkable increase in the number of traumatic cases. A wound causes a number of changes in the body that can affect the healing process, including changes in energy, protein, carbohydrate, fat, vitamin and mineral metabolism.Various ayurvedic literatures, particularly, Sushrut samhita, which is said to be a ancient textbook of surgery in Ayurveda, has mentioned about the diet for the person suffering from the wound, and the author said that diet plays a very important role in the wound healing process. Sushruta–The father of surgery has scientifically classified it in a systemic manner, whose wealth of clinical material and the principles of management are valid even today. Shalya Tantra (surgical branch in ayurvedic science) is one of the important branch of ayurveda, in which surgical and para-surgical techniques has described for management of various diseases. Vrana is the most important and widely described chapter of Shalya Tantra. Vrana (wound) is one of them, which have been managed by human being from starting of civilization. Under the circumstances, the first thing which the men came across was the injury from different sources which caused him the vrana. Vrana is seen as debilitating and scaring disorder, usually seen affecting the human being at any age. Well balanced nutrition plays an essential role in the wound healing.
