    ABSTRACT:

Cystic hygroma is a congenital lymphatic malformation frequently diagnosed during first-trimester ultrasound screenings. This anomaly, characterized by cystic masses typically found in the cervical and thoracic regions, poses significant challenges due to its association with chromosomal abnormalities, notably trisomy 21. We present a case study of a 32-year-old primigravida at 11 weeks of gestation diagnosed with a cervico-thoracic cystic hygroma measuring 4.5 mm in nuchal thickness, confirmed by Doppler ultrasound. Karyotyping revealed trisomy 21, prompting the decision for fetal termination. Discussion focuses on the clinical implications of cystic hygroma, emphasizing its poor perinatal prognosis and the importance of early detection and cytogenetic analysis in managing pregnancies affected by this condition. Understanding the ultrasound characteristics and prognostic factors associated with cystic hygroma is crucial for appropriate prenatal counseling and management strategies.

    ABSTRACT:

Anthocyanins are antioxidant-rich pigments found in red, purple, and blue fruits and vegetables, offering cardiovascular protection, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and vision-enhancing benefits. They also support gut health and reduce the risk of chronic diseases. Copigmentation, the formation of molecular complexes between pigments and non-colored organic substances, leads to increased absorbance and potential shifts in pigment absorption wavelengths, playing a crucial role in color stabilization and modulation in various natural and food products. A study focused on developing functional beverage examined antioxidant properties using diverse assays, including Folin-Ciocalteu for Total Phenolic Content, Aluminum Chloride for Total Flavonoids Content, pH differential technique for Total Anthocyanin Content, and Bisulfite bleaching for Monomeric and Polymeric Color. Antioxidant activities were evaluated through DPPH IC50 and FRAP content assays. Among four formulated beverages, FB4 (40:42:12:4:2) exhibited significantly higher levels of total anthocyanin (9070.57 mg Cy-3-G/L), Cyanidin-3-Rutinoside (2458 mg/L), Pelargonidin-3-Glucoside (1080.6 mg/L), and total flavonoids (10.6 mgQCE/ml) compared to FB1 (40:54:0:4:2). FB4 also demonstrated superior antioxidant activity with an IC50 value of 22.1 ± 0.16 and FRAP content of 48.4 mgAscE/ml. Additional parameters such as Browning Index, Hyperchromic shift, and Bathochromic shift were calculated, with FB4 showing significantly higher values than FB1. FB 4 has higher sodium (309.1mg/100ml), zinc (40.0mg/100ml), vitamin E (18.0mg/100ml), and vitamin K (0.133mg/100ml) content. FB 1 had higher calcium (269.7mg/100ml), magnesium (737.3mg/100ml), potassium (2047.8mg/100ml), iron (14.2mg/100ml), manganese (37.8mg/100ml), vitamin C (26.0) content. These findings suggest that a beverage composed of black soybeans, corn silk, and black mulberries offers a potent functional drink with therapeutic potential, particularly suitable for consumers with metabolic ailments. This research highlights the importance of anthocyanin-rich beverages in providing health benefits, including antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties, while emphasizing the role of copigmentation in enhancing the stability and visual appeal of these beverages.

    ABSTRACT:

This study's analysis of a large dataset using logistic regression reveals important factors influencing diabetes diagnosis that are influenced by clinical history, healthcare consumption, and demography. The results show that older persons had a higher risk of developing diabetes, with notable variations observed in age groups, ethnicities, and genders. Notably, normal glucose levels lower the chance of diabetes, whereas older age, non-Caucasian ethnicity, and greater emergency healthcare utilization correspond with a higher risk. Given the complex interactions between numerous variables, these findings highlight the necessity of focused healthcare policies and initiatives for the optimal management and prevention of diabetes. This study provides insightful advice for improving clinical procedures and creating reasonable health policy.

    ABSTRACT:

In recent decades, societal attitudes towards religion and spirituality have undergone a noticeable shift, marked by a significant decline in religious affiliation and engagement across various demographic groups. This paper aims to investigate the potential impact of this secular shift on mental health outcomes. By reviewing existing literature and empirical studies, we explore the intricate relationship between religious/spiritual beliefs and practices and mental well-being. The findings suggest that while the decline in religious affiliation may offer newfound freedom and autonomy, it also poses challenges to mental health. The analysis highlights the historical significance of religion and spirituality, their association with positive mental health outcomes, and the protective factors associated with religious engagement. Challenges stemming from declining religious involvement, including existential angst and moral confusion, are discussed, along with potential consequences for mental health. Furthermore, we examine alternative avenues for fulfilling the existential and emotional needs traditionally addressed by religion and spirituality. Alternative pathways to fulfilment and well-being, such as secular humanism, philosophy, art, nature, and community activism, are explored, emphasizing the need for integrative approaches to support resilience and flourishing in secular contexts.

    ABSTRACT:

Sacred groves (SGs) are considered as rich source of biodiversity, and also the source of endemic and threatened species. Existence of SGs is since centuries, as a traditional way of conservation and has a significant contribution in the process of biodiversity conservation. SGs are of positive consequential amalgamation of religion and ecology. Moreover, SGs are also significant as most of the plants are being used for medicinal purposes. Present review article is an attempt to bring together the data from published articles, books on SGs of Maharashtra at one plat form and with its analysis. Data for the present review article based on the published works, for giving an opportunity to study the various aspects of SGs. Data such as, district wise number of research publications, different type of works done on SGs have been provided.
