    ABSTRACT:

Auditors’ role is governed by their relationship with the client’s management, especially in the context of a conflict, where they might be forced to compromise their respective stance. However, auditors are expected to remain independent in the event this occurs.  A survey questionnaire was used to examine whether or not Iranian auditors are likely to accede to the clients’ request in a conflict. The results indicated that Iranian auditors tend to remain independent in the face of conflicts or pressure from clients.

    ABSTRACT:

    ABSTRACT:

Coronal fractures of the patella are an uncommon occurrence as compared to transverse fracture of the patella. We present a case of comminuted displaced fracture of the patella with disruption of the patellofemoral articulation which was treated with cancellous screws. Immediate mobilisation and active physiotherapy was started. The scope of the study was to identify the pattern of patella fracture, treat it accordingly and return to the patient the near normal knee motion so as to decrease the dependency of the patient on others for her activities of daily living. X rays and CT scans were used to identify the pattern of the fracture, which revealed a comminuted pattern of patella fracture and the decision to operate was taken.

    ABSTRACT:

Ceramic powders of lead titanate, co- doped with copper (Pb0.9Cu0.1TiO3) and cobalt or zinc, of a perovskite structure were prepared by the sol-gel process by adopting the mode of the destabilization of colloidal solution. The effect of temperature and dopants on the structure of the obtained samples was studied by X-ray diffraction (RX), Raman spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Analysis of the samples with fluorescence spectroscopy shows that Zn simultaneously occupies the sites A (Cu) and B (Ti) of the structure, creating oxygen vacancies. The effect of co-doping on the quadracity of the crystal structure was examined.

    ABSTRACT:

Multilevel inverter is a very popular in various fields like FACTS devices,HVDC systems, industrial drives, photovoltaic systems etc. It has a large number of advantages like low stress on switches, lower harmonics, low switching losses etc. There are different topologies available like neutral point or diode clamped inverter, flying capacitor inverter etc. each having numerous disadvantages and advantages. The efficiency of this inverter is greatly improved by minimising the number of switches of the configuration used. The paper takes into account a developed cascaded topology to reduce the number of switches and reduce the harmonics. To find the effectiveness of the developed cascaded topology in improvement of efficiency, a simulative study is done to evaluate the effect of topology with increasing voltage levels for R and RL loads. The configuration provides better harmonics with increasing levels for both kinds of loads. Simulations are done in MATLAB-Simulink.

    ABSTRACT:

Teachers use different methods to enhance students’ motivation and attitude. One method is giving individual verbal feedback and praise which is used to encourage students and provide remediation. This study aimed to explore the effects of teachers’ verbal feedback and praise on students’ motivation and attitude. A pre-post questionnaire was used as the research tool and two groups of female students participated in this study (N=30) under two conditions: no feedback, feedback and praise provided by the instructor. Findings showed that teachers’ verbal feedback and praise had a significant positive impact on the learners’ motivation and attitude. As a result of giving feedback and praise to the students and their effects on motivation and attitude, it can be argued that the more motivated students are, the more and the better they will learn. This study has implications for instructors, learners and researchers especially in Iran both to do more serious researches on the teachers’ perceptions as the most involved actors of Foreign Language Teaching regarding various aspects of feedback, motivation and their roles in language teaching and to make changes in the manner of feedback giving and even the method of teaching English.

    ABSTRACT:

Let G = (V,E) be a graph with p vertices and q edges. A Extended Mean Cordial Labeling of a Graph G with vertex set V is a bijection from V to {0, 1,2} such that each edge uv is assigned the label ( (⌈f(u)+f(v))⌉)⁄2 where ⌈ x ⌉ is the least integer greater than or equal to x with the condition that the number of vertices labeled with 0 and the number of vertices labeled with 1 differ by at most 1 and the number of edges labeled with 0 and the number of edges labeled with 1 differ by at most 1. The graph that admits a Extended Mean Cordial Labeling is called Extended Mean Cordial Graph. In this paper, we proved that Path related graphs Pn2, Pn, PnʘP2, Pn: Sm, S (PN) are Extended Mean Cordial Graphs.

    ABSTRACT:

This study demonstrates the efficiency of the multi-component induction tool (3DEX) that simultaneously measures the vertical and horizontal resistivity of the formation, by presenting a comparative petrophysical evaluation of thinly bedded reservoirs using Conventional logs and 3DEX data acquired from two different fields of which one is an oil-bearing reservoir formation from Olu field in the Niger Delta province and the other is a gas-bearing reservoir formation from Balda field in North Sea. Various graphs and charts were displayed to showcase the difference between the two evaluation techniques. From the oil-bearing reservoir field the 3DEX results indicate an average hydrocarbon reserves of 83% while the Conventional interpretation techniques presents an average of 17% and in the gas field the 3D-Explorer model gives an average of 53% and the Conventional model shows 47%. These results have demonstrated the effectiveness and successful application of the multi-component induction tool(3DEX) in evaluating thinly bedded reservoirs for effective decision making and proper well placing and performance predictions.

    ABSTRACT:

Obesity is one of emerging health problems of 21st century. World Health Organisation ( WHO) has declared Obesity as one of top ten health risk in the world ( 2000) and this is because it increases the risk of life threatning conditions. To reduce weight many diets are available and people follow them without knowing their repercussions. A fad diet is a weight loss plan or aid that promises dramatic results. These diets typically don't result in long-term weight loss and they are usually not very healthy. In fact, some of these diets can actually be dangerous to your health. Mono diet is defined as diet in which only one type of food product is eaten per day e.g. potatoes in a day nothing else. The present study was carried out on three hundred and twenty subjects selected randomly from five hundred Obese subjects. The subjects involved in this study has made extreme efforts to lose weight. They followed mono / fad diets plus exercises as well to reduce their weight in the past. Then these subjects were counseled and given nutritionally adequate dietary guidance so that they could lose weight in a healthy way. The subjects were divided into three experimental groups E1, E2 & E3 and a control group. E1 group was doing exercise only, E2 was following hypocaloric diet and E3 followed Exercise plus hypocaloric diet. Control group followed regimen on their own. The Dietary intake of E1, E2 & E3 in terms of energy, proteins, fats, carbohydrates was calculated before and after intervention based on dietary survey method. The anthropometric measurements were also found out before and after interventions which were reduced to significant levels. The study included to judge the effect of excess weight on the nutritional status of the young adults as well as to assess the efficacy of three common weight reducing interventions i.e EI ( Exercise ), E2 ( Hypocaloric diet), E3 ( Exercise plus Hypocaloric diet) in the subsamples of the above selected subjects.. The nutrition education and dietary counselling was provided and positive reduction in weight was achieved.

    ABSTRACT:

Pesticides are an integral part of present day agricultural technology. They are greatly contributing towards increasing world food supply by protecting the crop yield. Due to intensive development of agriculture in recent years and rapid growth of industrialization in our country, there has been a great increase in manufacture and utilization of fertilizers, pesticides, petrochemical products, detergent and other synthetic chemicals and agricultural wastes pose a serious threat to the water ecosystem and aquatic life. Monocrotophos is one of the organophosphorous pesticide used in this study. The median lethal concentration(LC50) of MC to fish L. rohita for 96 hour was found to be 45.1 ppm.In sublethal concentration(1/10th of LC50 96 hour value, 4.51ppm) fishes were exposed for 24, 48, 72 and 96 hrs, 10 days, 20 days and 30 days.A significant decrease in erythrocyte (RBC), Haemoglobin (Hb),mean cellular volume (MCV), mean cellular haemoglobin (MCH) and packed cellular volume were observed throughout the study period when compared to their controls. In contrast, leucocyte (WBC) were increased in this study period. It is essential for assessing the ecological risk of these pesticides.

    ABSTRACT:

Objective: To evaluate the safety and efficacy of membranes stripping in induction of labour in low-risk patients at term pregnancy (38-40 gestational weeks) Methods: This prospective study included 140 antenatal women who were randomly assigned to one of two groups: a stripping of the membranes group (n=70) and a no stripping control group (n=70). The primary outcome measure was the proportion of women who entered spontaneous labor within 1 week of entry into the study. Secondary outcome measures included mode of delivery and maternal and fetal complications. Results: There were no statistically significant differences between the two groups regarding maternal age, parity or Bishop score. The proportion of subjects who entered spontaneous labour before 41 weeks of gestation was significantly different between the two groups (p<0, 0001). The mode of delivery was significantly different between the groups and there was no statistically significant difference in maternal or fetal complications. Conclusions: Stripping of membranes is a safe method to reduce the length of term in pregnancy and the incidence of prolonged gestation. There is no evidence that stripping the membranes increases the risk of maternal or neonatal adverse outcomes.

The objective of this study measured the level of satisfaction of festival participants through the festival visitors’ consideration. In other words, this study wanted to find out how the visitors’ considerable factors from the festival participation affect the satisfaction. This study was performed during the festival period (for 24days starting April 24, 2015) in order to analysis about the participational visitors’ motivation and satisfaction of Gwangju Royal Ceramics Festival. A total of 400 questionnaires were collected from respondents considering their demographic factors such as sex, age, education, income, job and character during the festival period. The considerable factors were the 7-point scale of the interest, show, mood, escape, diversion, leisure and interact on the festival visitors’ considerable factors setting. For this, this study made use of multiple regression analysis. First, the ‘enter’ method generated a significant influence through four variables (the interest, show, escape and diversion of seven items) on the festival visitors’ satisfaction.

    ABSTRACT:

This study aimed to identify and compare the financial performance of all full-fledged Islamic banks operating in Jordan, in relation to profitability. Data has been retrieved from the financial annual reports for 2011 and 2014. As 2011 was the first full year of two Islamic banks, namely, Jordan Dubai Islamic banks, and Al-Rajhi Islamic Bank. Illustrious profitability ratios analysis had been applied with descriptive and inferential statistics for analyzing the results. Empirical results revealed that Jordanian Islamic banks in the year 2014 were more profitable than the year 2011, except for Islamic International Arab Bank, but with no significant relationship between the means for the relative years in relation to return on assets, return on equity, and profit margin. On behalf of the deviation and coefficient of variance as consistency values also proved that the year 2014 was more consistent than the year 2011, as its values were higher for the year 2011, except for the ROA ratio.
