    ABSTRACT:

Objective: To describe the complications observed in patients suffering from a limb fracture treated by a traditional method at home before being admitted to hospital. Patients and Method: This was a prospective descriptive study, carried out in the orthopedic-trauma department of the CHU Communautaire of Bangui from January 1 to December 31, 2015. Patients included in the follow-up department had Limb fractures treated by the traditional method and presenting a complication. These patients should indicate their consent and provide information on the traditional treatment received. Those who had undergone mixed treatment, those who were not consenting and those who presented no complications were excluded. The study was conducted during consultations, and hospitalization. Each patient included was asked about the traditional product used, the stages in the treatment of the fracture. A survey form was used to collect the data and included variables such as age, sex, profession, provenance, fracture, type of fracture, product used, reasons for this choice, method used, duration of treatment and course of treatment. The data collected was analyzed using the Epi info 2012 software. Results: The mean age of the patients was 45.4 years (range 14 and 73 years). Male subjects made up75% of the sample. The Sex ratio was 3. According to the profession, the farmers were the most numerous with a proportion of 22.8%. In 58.7% of the cases, the injured came from within the country. The average consultation time was 4 months. Fractures were common in the leg (32.6%), the femur (27.2%) and the humerus (16.3%). Most fractures (79.3%) were closed. The traditional means used were mainly vegeTable leaves (31.5%), tree bark (17.4%)and wild onions (9.8%). These products were used in 62% of cases by application to the fracture site followed by a bandage. In 66.3% of the cases, the fractures were not reduced before treatment and not immobilized in 57.6% of the cases. In the 42.4% of cases the fractures were immobilized and, the immobilization materials were pieces of wood (17.4%), braided Chinese bamboo (16.3%) and bark of wood (8, 7%). The products were renewed every5 to 7 days in 75% of the cases. Vicious calluses (31.3%), non-union (25.2%) and joint stiffness (14%) were the main complications. Confidence (55.4%) motivated the choice of this treatment. Conclusion: The traditional treatment of fractures is a common practice in our country. Our study found a high frequency of complications due to ignorance of the principles of fracture treatment by traditional healers. The identification, training and awareness of these traditional healers about their limits, the implementation of a collaboration mechanism with modern medicine are strategies to be developed in order to reduce the rate of these complications.

    ABSTRACT:

Tree yield and regeneration potential were investigated in natural forest ecosystem in the southwestern region of Nigeria. Three forest reserves were selected for data collection. The three forest reserves are Akure Forest Reserve in Akure South Local Government Area, Eda Forest Reserve in Ekiti State and Idanre Forest Reserve in Idanre Local Government Area of Ondo State. Four equal size (25 × 25m) sample plots were centrally located in each of the selected forest reserves by adopting systematic line transect method. All trees with Dbh greater than or equal to 10cm encountered in each of the plots were identified. Quadrants of 5 × 5m size were laid inside the 25 × 25m plots that were laid. Akure forest reserve had the highest volume per hectare (172.96m3), this was followed by Eda forest reserve (136.52m3) and Idanre forest reserve (111.88m3). Idanre forest had the highest regeneration potential (2.49%), followed by Akure forest reserve (2.38%) then Eda forest reserve (1.56%). A Regeneration potential of 2.14 was obtained when the forest were pooled together. It was concluded that the forest should continued to be managed and preserved from biotic and abiotic factors that could hinder regeneration in the natural forest ecosystem. This will help conserve biodiversity and provide all the other services required in perpetuity.

This study sought to evaluate bootstrapping financing strategies adopted by women entrepreneurs to enhance growth in their entrepreneurial careers. The objectives of this study were to determine the direction of relationship between loans from friends and family, and growth; to establish the strength of relationship between personal savings and growth, and to determine the direction of association between delaying payments to suppliers and growth of female firms. Literature review focused mainly on bootstrapping strategy and its elements which include personal savings, delaying payments to suppliers and loans from friends and family. Other studies which looked at bootstrapping strategy were also reviewed. This research adopted an explanatory research design and a total of 82 women entrepreneurs owning boutique and saloon registered firms in Gweru participated in the study. SPSS version 24 was used to determine the strength and direction of relationship between the strategies adopted and growth of their firms as measured by sales. The findings of this study are that women face a plethora of challenges in their entrepreneurial journey. Major challenges which are terrorising women entrepreneurs’ fortunes are lack of financial resources, failure to balance home and work roles, and lack of training. Also, there was a strong positive relationship between personal savings and growth. Loans from friends and family were positively correlated to growth in sales in women firms in Zimbabwe. However, delaying payments to suppliers was negatively correlated with sales in women firms in Zimbabwe. The study recommended that personal savings and loans from friends and family should be encouraged among women as these had a positive relationship with growth. However, female entrepreneurs must avoid delaying paying their supplies as this is inversely related to growth of their firms.

This article focuses on the study of genre problems of poetic translation, in particular, on the reflection of radif in translation. Although the content of this problem in the example of Makhtumkuli's poetry is integrated with the number of lines from poetry, the use of these techniques, although less in the practice of poetic translation, is not surprising if the recognition serves as a special tool for translators.

    ABSTRACT:

Meat products are widely consumed and appreciated by general population due to their diversity of flavors, use in food preparations, associated with their low cost. Major problem of these foods is constant use of nitrite and sodium sorbate, which although additives allowed by Brazilian and other countries legislation are associated with toxic effects on body. Aim of this work was to quantify nitrite and sodium sorbate levels in cured meat products. Additive levels were quantified using UV-Vis spectrophotometry, calibration curves of sodium nitrite and sorbic acid, values found were compared with Brazilian legislation, with daily intake index. Sodium nitrite contents were found in range 0.004 to 0.019 g-1 and sodium sorbate ranged from 0.03 to 0.10 g 100 g-1. These data show that in many products content of additives used exceeds values allowed by law, this warns population that they should consume these products in a moderate way because of risks that may cause their health.

    ABSTRACT:

It should be borne in mind that the main water resources of the Aral Sea basin – the flow of the Syr Darya and Amu Darya rivers, according to the Memorandum, are distributed among the water consumers of the countries of Central Asia. Therefore, the withdrawal of water from these sources, the established limit from year to year is complicated. In the contour of irrigated agriculture, the volume of water consumption of agriculture is determined by natural and economic conditions, the technical condition of irrigation systems, the applied equipment and technology for irrigation of agricultural crops. The magnitude of water consumption also depends on the water supply of a particular soil – climate district, district. About 90% of available water resources are spent on irrigation of cultivated crops, for carrying out vegetative, moisture recharge and wash irrigation in the irrigated zone. The article considers the assessment of the current state of water use, the technical state of irrigation systems, as well as improving the management of water user associations in conditions of water scarcity.

    ABSTRACT:

Tree growth variables were collected at Elephant and Biosphere reserves of Omo Forest Reserve, Ogun State for volume model and form factor development. Ten(10) plots of equal sizes (50 x 50m) were randomly located in each of the forests using the systematic line transect sampling method. Trees with DBH ≥ 20 cm were enumerated. Growth variables measured include diameter at breast height, diameter at the base, diameter at the top, and the diameter at the middle of all living trees using the girth tape and Spiegel relaskop for trees with large buttresses or diameter while the total height was measured with the Spiegel Relaskop. Most of the tress in the Biosphere reserve fall in the diameter class of 20-30cm class. All data were screened with volume calculated using the Newton’s formula .Correlation analysis was carried out to examine the linear relationship between volume and other growth variables. Three regression models were developed, assessed and validated. Assessment was based on the correlation coefficient (R), coefficient of determination (R2), standard error (SE) and F- ratio while validation was done using the residual analysis to examine the plausibility of the models for volume estimation. The tree form factor which is the ratio of the volume of the tree to that of a geometric solid was also estimated with the form factor for the whole forest estimated at 0.74 and the form factor for the Biosphere reserve and Elephant reserve estimated at 0.50 and 0.52 respectively.

    ABSTRACT:

The article, based on an analysis of scientific works on one of the pressing issues of the Turkic languages - verb-forming affixes, shows that in early studies they were studied formally, in connection with morphology. And modern scientific achievements require the study of not only verb-forming, but also all word-forming affixes in a functional-semantic sense, based on the semantics that arose as a result of the relationship between the producing and derived roots. Based on this, the author shows the dynamics of the development of the study of verb-forming affixes as evidence of the advancement of the research of the word-forming system of Turkic languages.

    ABSTRACT:

    ABSTRACT:

In the article there were analyzed the ways and development of mythical motives. Sources of information on the occurrence of myths of myths were studied due to some important points of views of well-known world folklorists compared with Karakalpak popular scholars’ opinions on the subject. In the article it’s pointed out, that mythic images belonged to the earliest stages of human society and they began firstly from the humans thoughts of the natural phenomena as the world Earth, life on Earth, changes of seasons, rainfalls, snowfalls, strong heats, whirlwinds, hurricanes, earthquakes, volcanoes, frosts, fires, etc.; universe, stars, planets, constellations, comets, eclipses (E. of the Sun, E. of the Moon) etc. Historical bases of such motives are studied in correlation with archaic notions of views including the Muslim (Islam) religious thoughts and mythical motives devaluated by under the influence of this religion. Mythical motives in folk eposes, legends and tales and their ideas concern with earlier periods development and we have realised a close familiarity in the idea and plot of Middle Asian, Greek, Persian, Arabic, Hindu and Russian mythological works. Here it is obviously observed a coexistent diffusion between the mythic creative works of all the above mentioned cultures. We think that such a literary phenomenon has occurred in the long misty development of intercultural relations.

    ABSTRACT:

The competition between cable television and online streaming services increases because of the digital media expansion. Acquiring customers today takes quite just advertising; it requires tailoring business objectives to the requirements and needs of consumers. Numerous studies have examined the connection between the adoption of cable and online media, and key variables like cost, simple use, and social trends. During this study, we explore variety of things which consumers consider when choosing online streaming options. Sample data was collected through a survey questionnaire among the students. With reference to demographics, gender played no clear role while age showed marginal impact in choosing online streaming services. The research also presents the awareness level and the program they prefer to watch through online streaming services.
