    ABSTRACT:

Background: In this era of digital innovation, mobile health (mHealth) has emerged as a novel concept in the health care industry. Mobile Health is defined as using mobile communications for health interventions and information, and involves the use of portable devices that are capable of creating, storing, retrieving, and transmitting data to improve the safety, quality of care, and health of end users. However, the efficacy of these apps in improving healthcare delivery to Muslim pilgrims arriving in Saudi Arabia each year is yet to be determined. Objectives: The purpose of our study was to assess whether the use of mobile health apps improves pilgrims experience, and to compare the patient experience between users and nonusers. Methods: The Outpatient Experience Questionnaire was the basis of our survey, which included 5 dimensions (physical environment and convenience, physician-patient communication, health information, short-term outcome, and general satisfaction), 25 items, and Pilgrims demographic characteristics (gender, age, education, marital status, nationality, living place, self-rated health status) with good reliability and validity. Results: A sample of 1346 pilgrims was randomly selected from Holy Mosque, Alansar Hospital and King Fahd Hospital in Madinah, Saudi Arabia. The inclusion criteria were age 18years or above, consenting to participation, completing hospital visit, and offering their own experience accurately and independently in the questionnaire. Data entry and management were performed using Epidata 3.1, and analysed using SPSS Version 20.0, 2011. The mHealth app users were more likely to be young (p= 0.02), married (p=0.03), and better educated (p=0.014) than non-users. The app users also gave higher scores in the dimensions of Physical Environment and Convenience (P=0.005), Physician- Patient Communication (P=0.004), Provision of Health Information (P=0.001), Short term Outcome (P=0.001), and Overall Patient Satisfaction (P=0.001). Recommendation: Based on these results, we recommend the development of a novel, user friendly mobile health application, specifically tailored to the felt need of the pilgrim community.

    ABSTRACT:

Objective: take stock of the morbidity of otolaryngological emergency in Brazzaville; explain our therapeutic attitudes and our results. Patients and methods: This was a descriptive, retrospective study of 5 years including all the patients followed in the otolaryngological department of the Talangaï reference hospital for emergency pathology. The medical records allowed the collection of epidemiological, clinical and therapeutic data. The comparison of the quantitative variables was made by the Student test. The significance threshold was set at p <0.05. Results: a total of 297 patients with otolaryngological emergencies were collected, representing a prevalence of 4% of all otolaryngological and head and neck pathology. The average age was 18 with a ratio of 2.3 in favor of men. The average consultation time was 4 hours and the main signs were hemorrhages in the otolaryngological cavity (42.8%) followed by dysphagia following foreign bodies from the esophagus (27.3%). But laryngeal and tracheal dyspneas were rare (1.3%). All the patients were hospitalized in emergency and the evolution was favorable in the patients who had consulted within less than 6 hours (P = 0.00019). Conclusion: otolaryngological emergency are the prerogative of the young male subject. Patient survival depends on the consultation period because hemorrhages, severe infectious conditions, laryngeal and tracheal dyspneas require rapid treatment to begin before a period of 12 hours.

    ABSTRACT:

This paper attempted to examine the concept of corruption and sustainable development in Nigeria. It is no longer an assumption that corruption has drastically crept into all spheres of human existence, thus making it obvious that corruption challenges remains a social menance that have proven difficult to be rid off in the society. However, corruption has taken different dimensions and has caused tremendous destruction on socio- economic and political development of both developed and developing nations. The main objective of this paper is to investigate the causes of corruption and assess the nature of its prevalence, gravity and persistency from one government/ regime to another in Nigeria. The paper adopted the conflict theorist by attempting to explain the motivational phenomena responsible for the persistency and unexacting acts of corruption in Nigeria. The position of the paper is that the perspective provided some knowledge into social challenges, as well as the general perception of corruption trend and its devastating impact on sustainable development in Nigeria. The documentary approach was extensively used in conducting the research. The study therefore recommends that steadfastness and spirit of uncompromising zeal that is devoid of sentiment would help to arrest and put an end to the reign of corruption in Nigeria. The process should also involve a holistic approach that require optimal commitment from top to bottom. And policy makers should endeavour to suggest ideas that would be implanted and not ending up in the archives, by signing agreements with government that such policies after being studied would find its way into the society.

    ABSTRACT:

The paper focused on instructional technology application in Nigeria classroom, challenges and the way forward. Education reforms call for a shift in instructional approach i.e from theory to practice using information, communication and technology platform (ICT) learning environment in the educational system through efficient application of instructional technology. The 21st century education is driven by information and communication technology. Thus, this paper looked at instructional technology media and how they could be effectively utilized in classroom instruction in order to enhance students learning outcomes. It is on this premise that the paper defined technology and its’ application in classroom instruction, it also identified the challenges of application and the way forward. Educational technology is defined in terms of classroom teaching and learning. The paper further suggested some possible ways for improvement in line with the title of the paper. One of such remedy to effective technology application in the classroom was that government should make provision through adequate funding of the sector to facilitate training and retraining of teachers in the latest techniques of instructional technology application in the classroom and also provide stand-by generators to schools in respective of location as source of energy in order to have a stable and uninterrupted operation of technological media during classroom instruction whenever there is power outrage.

    ABSTRACT:

Inadequate supply of vitamin A is among the most pressing challenges facing developing countries including Nigeria. This study was undertaken to develop an acceptable chin-chin from orange fleshed sweet potato (OFSP) and red bambara groundnut (RBG) flours. Orange fleshed sweet potato contain beta carotene which is a precursor of vitamin A. Red bambara groundnut have potential to supply high protein to food products. The OFSP and RBG flours were blended in ratios 60:40, 50:50, 40:60, and 30:70, respectively. Established recipe was used to prepare chin-chin from the blends and 100% wheat flour (control). The chin-chin samples were analysed for sensory attributes, oiliness, proximate composition, anti-nutrients, minerals, vitamins and energy contents using standard methods. Data were analyzed using ANOVA at α0.05. There were no significant differences among 50:50, 60:40 and 100% wheat chin-chin in overall acceptability. The values of the oiliness ranged between 1.37±0.10 % and 3.92±0.86%. The breaking energy ranged between 0.035±0.007 N.m and 0.167±0.022 N.m. Crude protein contents for chin-chin were 13.78±0.03% (30:70), 12.87±0.01% (40:60), 11.79±0.07% (50:50), 10.71±0.05% (60:40) and 10.79±0.29% (control). Alkaloids contents were 0.02%, 0.03%, 0.06%, 0.04%, and 0.03% for 60:40, 50:50, 30:70, 40:60, and control, respectively. Trypsin inhibitors were not detected in the chin-chin. Calcium contents of all the samples ranged between 23.14±0.15% and 24.83±0.07% and iron between 1.01±0.03 and 1.65±0.04 mg/100g. The beta carotene contents ranged between 0.85±0.06mg/100g and 5.27±0.09mg/100g. Metabolizable energy for the chin-chin ranged between 100.07±0.48 and 101.25±0.43 KJ. Chin-chin produced from blends of orange fleshed sweet potato and red Bambara groundnuts are rich in protein and pro-vitamin A and are low in anti-nutrients.

    ABSTRACT:

The Success of an organisation depends on leaders. Leadership is interpersonal influence, exercised in a situation and directed, through the communication process, towards the attainment of a specified goal or goals. The leaders are playing a vital role in the conflict resolution. Therefore the leaders should possess some qualities in the conflict resolution and their interpersonal and other leadership trails will influence in the resolution of conflicts in an organisation. The management alone will not bring organizational success. Organisations of all types are discovering that something more is needed – Leadership. If managers are to succeed, they must cultivate leadership skills. Today’s leaders cannot be afraid of conflict. The successful leader is so preoccupied with people- as much or more than with process – that is or her attributes will influence the entire culture of the organisation. However, the development of leadership skills is dependent up on the employing institution’s giving the aspiring manager the freedom and responsibility to be on innovative leader early in the managerial career.

During the last years there has been a growing interest to care quality in developed countries and certain developing countries as well since patients have become active partners in medical care nowadays. The purpose of this work is to assess the satisfaction of the hospitalized patients at eleven (11) MCO departments of the University Hospital Center of ORAN (UHC). Materials and Methods: We have carried out a prospective study during 15 days of two samples (groups) of eleven (11) hospital depts. Picked at random during the periods of October-November 2017 and December-January 2018. A multidimensional anonymous questionnaire translated in Arabic and French was handed over to the participants by medical students from a different department. Solely leaving patients on the same survey day were included. The level of satisfaction has been assessed through thematic and overall scores by combining all satisfaction dimensions. Results: We have included 198 patients. The average age of patients ranged between 35.74 ±21.4 years and children <5 years represented 12.1% of cases. Fifty four percent of the patients had secondary level education and 8.6% university level education. The overall satisfaction score was 56.7%.it varied significantly according to the gender (p<0.03) and admission sections (p<0.001). Scores for reception and psychological support were respectively as follows: 69.3% and 67.2%. Conclusion: Satisfaction assessment is less frequent and not compulsory in our health facilities. The obtained satisfaction overall score which varied significantly depending on the admission section, can be improved if corrective measures are taken. The improvement of quality in hospitals depends on various aspects including satisfaction assessment of patients without neglecting caregivers.

Cygb is an O2 carrier protein expressed by fibroblasts. In fibrosis, hypoxia occurs as characterized by stabilization of hypoxia-inducible factor-1α (HIF-1α), which later form the HIF-1, a transcription factor for the expression of adaptation proteins (including Cygb). The purpose of this study was to obtain information about Cygb role in fibrosis hypoxia using keloid tissue as a model. This was an observational descriptive study using keloid tissue samples, and the preputium as control. Measurement of Cygb and HIF-1α mRNA expression by real-time RT–PCR. Cygb and HIF-1α protein level (ELISA); while Cygb and HIF-1α protein expressions in the dermis layer by IHC. Data were analyzed statistically using unpaired t-test. In keloid, Cygb mRNA expression increased 8.7 times, compared to preputium, Cygb protein increased significantly (1.19 Vs 0.78 ng/mg protein and 95% Vs 63%, P<0.05). HIF-1α mRNA expression increased by 5.1 times, in keloid tissue, and protein HIF-1α increased significantly (0.20 Vs 0.12 ng/mg protein and 80% Vs 38%, P<0.05). There is a strong positive correlation between the expression of the HIF-1α and Cygb mRNA (Pearson; R = 0.899, P = 0.000).The expression of cytoglobin (Cygb) increased in hypoxia fibrosis tissue with keloid.

    ABSTRACT:

Bankruptcy for a company is a final declaration of its inability to sustain current operations given in its current debt obligations. Practically all firms must have source debt, load to expand operations or just to survive. Business failure is a major concern to the parties involved and can create high costs and heavy losses, due to this predication is highly beneficial. If bankruptcy could be predicted with reasonable accuracy ahead of time, firms could better protect their business and could take action to minimize risk and loss of business and perhaps even prevent the bankruptcy itself. The Indian textile industry is one of the leading textile companies in the world. It largely depends upon the textile manufacturing and exports, IBEF Report on Textile Industry and market Growth in India assesses the Indian textiles industry, currently estimated at around US$ 108 billion, is expected to reach US$ 223 billion by 2021. The industry is the second largest employer after agriculture, providing employment to over 45 million people directly and 60 million people indirectly. The Indian Textile Industry contributes approximately 5 per cent to India’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), and 14 per cent to overall Index of Industrial Production (IIP). High interest rates, demand, mismanagement and power costs are the major factors that which leads to bankruptcy of textile companies. The specific aim of this research paper is to predict the financial health of the selected textile companies of Southern Rajasthan. One of the most commonly used statistical ratio models for predicting business distress is Altman’s Z-score Model. A sample of 05 textile companies was selected randomly from South Rajasthan to conduct the present research.

Coronavirus are a large family of virus which may cause illness in animals and humans. In humans, several coronavirus are known to cause respiratory infections ranging from the common cold to more severe disease such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS). The most recently discovered coronavirus causes coronavirus disease Covid19 and it has a global pandemic outbreak from Dec, 2019.Health care workers are at the front line of any outbreak response and such are exposed to hazards that put them at risk of infection with an outbreak pathogen (in this case COVID-19).1 The awareness about the disease, its sign and symptoms, transmission, conservative treatment, preventive measures etc. should be known to the health care workers. Keeping this point in mind, investigators were interested to gather information from the health care students and working professionals related to awareness of the pandemic COVID-19. Objectives of the Study: • To collect the baseline information of the health care students and working professionals. • To assess the knowledge regarding Covid-19, its transmission, progression and prevention. Materials and Methods: A web based descriptive survey research design was used for the study to accomplish the objectives. As it was the lock down period the tool was distributed through the Google forms created for the research data collection. One hundred thirty four (134) health care professionals working in various organization of eastern and north eastern region of India participated in this study from the period of 15th April 2020 till 30 April, 2020. The tools used to collect the information from the participants are the demographic data to collect the back ground information and structured knowledge questionnaire (Total no. of items were 22) to collect the information about their knowledge on Covid-19. Results: The overall awareness among health care students and professionals were good and very good respectively. 87% (n=134) knew that the transmission occurred through contact and droplet air route which shows they have good knowledge. 84% could response correctly on the clinical symptoms of Covid 19 which also interprets that they have very good knowledge. Majority (60%, n=134)) of health care personnel responded that the individual with COVID -19 can transmit the virus to other individual after only having or developing fever which interprets they have average knowledge. 100% (n=134) responded that the hand hygiene is an important standard precaution for general infection prevention and control which is a very good knowledge score. 73% (n=134), (good knowledge score) responded that PCR is an important diagnostic tool used to diagnose SARS CoV-2.

Background: An outbreak of novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in China has influenced every aspect of life. Healthcare professionals, especially dentists, are exposed to a higher risk of getting infected due to close contact with infected patients. Despite having a high standard of knowledge and practice, dental practitioners around the globe are in a state of anxiety and fear while working in their respective fields due to the COVID-19 pandemic impact on humanity. A number of dentist’s have either modified their services according to the recommended guidelines to emergency treatment only or closed down practices for an uncertain period to decrease the risk of getting infected from patients and potentially spread it to their peers, families and other patients. Aim: This review aims at narrating some of the practically implementable SOP’s (standard operating procedures) into the dental practice during this pandemic era along with a guidance in a holistic approach. Methodology: Literature search was done using key words, followed by inclusions and exclusions. Results: Based on the literature search and the author’s experience, a working classification was made for ease in compilation and perseverance of data. Conclusion: Dental practices need to review their infection control policies, engineering controls, and supplies. Health care providers must keep themselves up-to-date about this evolving disease and allow dental care to be provided while mitigating the spread of this novel infection. Also personal care is very much essential for a dentist in this pandemic era.

Introduction and Aim: Diastasis recti has been defined as impairment characterized by separation of two rectus abdominis muscles along the linea alba common during and after pregnancy. Due to increased stretch of rectus abdominis induced by expanding uterus that leads to lumbo pelvic instability and pelvic floor muscle weakness. It causes an increase in abdominal circumferences, low back pain together with dissatisfaction about body shape altered self-esteem and disadvantage in inter personal relationship. The study focuses on reducing the intra recti distance and improving the core muscle stability in postpartum women. To find the effectiveness of kinesiotaping on diastasis recti in postpartum women. Materials and methods: Thirty postpartum women were selected, based on selection criteria among them fifteen women were group A and another fifteen were group B and with the knowledge of the subjects, Vernier caliper and waist circumference and intra recti distance was done to assess the diastasis recti. Group A undergone kinesiotaping with core strengthening exercises and group B undergone post-partum belt with core strengthening exercises. Post test was done after eight weeks using Vernier caliper and intra recti distance. Results: There was significant difference between two groups was improving the core stability. In group A (kinesiotaping and core strengthening exercises) were more effective than group B (post-partum belt with core strengthening exercises). This implies that kinesiotaping is most beneficial in improving core stability.

    ABSTRACT:

This paper examines CP levels and performance outcomes of four community-based tourism projects in the Coastal region of Kenya that has been witnessing a steadily increasing number of tourists. The attraction of visitors to this region has been due to its relatively well developed first class establishment that are juxtaposed in close proximity to pristine glistering tropical sandy beaches and world renowned wildlife attractions. The region is thus a major popular destination for international visitors, especially Europeans, North Americans, and in the recent past the Oriental Asians. Conspicuously however, the local communities that host these natural and cultural heritage and who are also in close proximity with the quality and integrity of this tourism resource base are not adequately benefitting. From this misnomer arose the purpose of this study in which examination of CP levels and performance outcomes that characterize the community-based tourism initiatives were interrogated. The study that had proceeded with the premise that community participation levels and performance outcomes in planning and decision making are a uniform process was rejected. Rather, they were found to be differentiated processes over its attendant institutions. Thus CP and performance outcomes, and consequently governance were found to have major disparities at intra- and inter-community tourism initiatives, suggesting that the level of governance is somewhat different as members’ role in influencing planning and decision making varied significantly among the case studies. This was well captured by data gathered from both longitudinal and cross-sectional surveys. The empirical data were supplemented with policy documents fromNGOs and government agency reports. The data were thereafter analysed for patterns and trends in levels of community participation and performance outcomes at different community-based tourism projects using qualitative and quantitative statistical techniques. The research hypotheses were brought to close with the aid of computer software SPSS, which generated information to inform a management set of policy alternatives that would enhance community participation and hence good governance in community-based tourism initiatives not only in the coastal region of Kenya but also provide a good model for Kenya’s other regions to copy. Above all the study recommends that participation be embraced at all stages of planning and decision making, and be as transparent as possible as this is likely to make members more satisfied and committed even when they disagree with the leadership of these projects.

    ABSTRACT:

The increasing concern for environmental sustainability by the banks has given rise to concept of Green Banking. Green banking is concerned with promoting the environmental friendly practices thereby reducing carbon footprint from banking activities. The banks and financial institutions can play an important role in promoting environmental sustainability through green banking practices that can influence the attitude of the stakeholders towards the environment. Green banking is always considered a boon to the growing society and is linked to environmental protection and sustainable development (Drakshayani, 2019). Many countries have adopted green banking practices in an attempt to address the issue of sustainability. Green banking is proactive in nature and a smart way to think towards future sustainability. Keeping this in mind, the present study aims to examine the green banking initiatives and the green practices adopted by the Indian Banking Sector. The key benefits of green banking for various stakeholders are also studied. The study is exploratory in nature and uses secondary sources of data collection. The most common green banking practices adopted by the Indian Banking Sector have been identified as online banking, mobile banking, fund transfer, bills payment etc. but still a vast area of green banking like innovation of green products and services such as green mortgage, green fund, investment in renewable energy, energy efficiency techniques etc. is untouched.

    ABSTRACT:

The study examined the role of corporate governance principles in raising the financial performance efficiency for insurance companies in Sudan. The study has the following questions: Does the applying of corporate governance principles affect the profitability of insurance companies? What is the relationship between applying the principles of governance and liquidity? The study reached the following results: The rights of the equity principle help increase the net profit of insurance companies. The principle of equal treatment affects the rate of return on the gross profit of insurance companies. The principle of equity contributed to reducing the liquidity ratio of insurance companies. The study recommended: applying the principle of disclosure and transparency to reduce the risk of interest rates, and that the governing council bear the responsibility in insurance companies to reduce the risk of fraud, and increase net profits through applying the principle of financial value.

    ABSTRACT:

Road traffic injuries (RTI) are worldwide health and constitute an oversized majority of the deaths caused by all injuries. Every year the lives of approximately 1.35 million people are died as a result of a road traffic crash. Between 20 to 50 million more people suffer non-fatal injuries, with many incurring a disability as a result of their injury. we are introducing the automated alert device for vehicle accidents. The proposed system detects the accident and sends the data in less time to emergency services like 108 in India. This can be unacceptably high when put next with international standards. An intelligent system for accident detection using a microcontroller like Arduino. When an accident occurs accident detection device detects an accident and communicates with the GPS module and acquires the placement of the accident spot and can send that location to their relations and emergency services. After an accident, if the rider is safe then he/she can send the message that “No need to worry, I'm safe” by pushing the protection switch. For that, we'd like to speak with a microcontroller like Arduino by using the Arduino IDE platform.

    ABSTRACT:

A method has been provided for the disinfection of water polluted by bacteria comprising administering zero-valent iron to the water in the presence of oxygen. This administration lead to the hydroxyl free radicals generation assuring the disinfection of contaminated water. A method has been used to proof the generation of free radicals. This method is based on determining content of a thiobarbituric acid-reactive substance in a solution comprising administering zero-valent iron in the presence of oxygen and 2-thiobarbituric acid to the solution and measuring a concentration of a 2-thiobarbituric acid-complex. Several samples of polluted water were tested by treating using free radicals generated by zero valent iron powder. The results show that after 6 to 10 minutes the bacteria disappear completely.
