    ABSTRACT:

Background:Scapular muscle endurance and core endurance reportedly may influence shoulder injury risk. Hence, the present study aimed to analyze the difference between healthy subjects and those with chronic shoulder pain with regard to scapular endurance, core endurance and pain level. Additionally to explore the relationship between measures of scapular endurance, core endurance and pain level. Subjects: Sixty subject of both sexes with mean age 25.66 ± 2.30 years were participated in this study. They weredivided into two equal groups; the control group and the study group who suffering from chronic sub acromial impingement syndrome (SAIS). Methods: Endurance of the serratus anterior and trapezius muscles was assessed using the scapular muscle endurance (SME) test. Modified Sorensen test, trunk flexor endurance test and endurance of lateral core muscles were conducted to assess the core endurance. The pain level was assessed by shoulder pain and disability index (SPADI). Results: There were significant declines of the values of Scapular muscle endurance test and all functional core endurance test in experimental group compared by control group. Additionally, Scapular muscle endurance test scores showed a correlation with the modified Sorensen test, trunk flexor endurance test, lateral endurance on affected side and pain level (r = 0.859, p = 0.0001; r = 0.845, p = 0.0001 ; r = 0.824, p = 0.0001 ; r =- 0.668, p =0.0001) respectively. No significant correlation was found between scapular muscle endurance test and lateral endurance test for non-affected side (p >0.05). Conclusion: Scapular endurance and core endurance deficiency was found in patient with SAIS. There appears to be a link between the scapular muscle endurance and all core test except non-affected lateral core endurance test.

    ABSTRACT:

Background: In 1912 Transplant pioneer Alexis Carrell received the Nobel Prize for his work in the field. The French surgeon had developed methods for connecting blood vessels and conducted successful kidney transplants on dogs. Ukrainian doctor Yu Yu Voronoy transplanted the first human kidney, using an organ from a deceased donor. The recipient died shortly thereafter as a result of rejection (Bilgel et al., 2006). In 1982 on December 2, Barney Clark received the first artificial heart; he survived for 112 days (Taimur Saleem et al., 2009). In 2010 Spanish doctors conducted the world’s first full face transplant on a man injured in a shooting accident. A number of partial face transplants had already taken place around the world (Bilgel et al., 2006). Objectives: To assess the knowledge among undergraduate students about organ donation, their attitude and commitment towards donation of organs and various factors affecting organ donation. Methodology: A cross sectional study was planned for undergraduate students of Santhiram Medical College, Nandyal, District Kurnool, by developing a three part questionnaire in April 2014. Study was conducted and subjected for statistical analysis. Observation and Results: Study participants have heard of donation and have some knowledge of organ donation, but none have donated. No statistical association was found between age, sex, year of study, religion, socio-economic status to donate organs. Print medias were main source of information. Family person was first concern for donation. Student were reluctant to donate smokers, alcoholics addicts etc. Conclusion: Organ donation and transplantation curriculum should be included in undergraduate syallabus, looking to great need of organ donation in future.

    ABSTRACT:

Trigeminal neuralgia is a kind of neuropathic pain which is associated with nerve injury or nerve lesion. It is considered as the most excruciatingly painful condition known to mankind. Due to the sharp, intense and stabbing nature of pain, sufferers called it as ‘suicide disease’. This is a chronic condition of pain that affects some important cranial nerves which are the most widely distributed nerves in the head. The annual incidence for women is approximately 5.9 cases per 100,000 women; for men, it is approximately 3.4 cases per 100,000 men. Unfortunately, there is no definitive cure for trigeminal neuralgia at present. The management of trigeminal neuralgia includes anticonvulsants, tricyclic antidepressants drugs and other surgical measures. As per Ayurvedic classics this condition has close proximity with the disease Anantavata which is Sannipatika in nature. The name itself indicates the extremely vitiated vatadosha. In Mashbaladi Pachana Kashaya, drugs are sheet Virya, Snigdha Guna, Madhura Rasa that subside the vitiated Vataby its nourishing property. The Kashaya is also Siddha by Ghrita, Saindhava and Hingu due to Ghrita it is also helpful in nourishing and balancing Vata and Hingu and Saindhava responsible for Kapha Vilayana and Sroto Shodhana. Thus Nasya with Mashbaladipachanakashaya can be a better option for Trigeminal neuralgia.

    ABSTRACT:

Background: Pain is an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience, which leads us to look for intervention strategies to control it and thus achieve greater well-being with the minimum of adverse effects. Objective: to determine the effectiveness of hypnotherapy as a coadjuvant treatment in the management of pain in post-operated patients of knee arthroscopy at the Naval Hospital of Specialties of Veracruz. Material and Method: Experimental, longitudinal, exploratory and descriptive study performed in post-operated patients of knee arthroscopy during the period from October 1, 2017 to February 28, 2018. The intensity of post-surgical pain was analyzed and compared using the evaluation scale of the pain (analog visual scale, EVA) in group A (hypnotherapy and analgesics) and control group B (only analgesics). Results: the overall score obtained during the intragroup analgesic comparison obtained an initial mean measurement of 6.6 pain points (EVA) in group "A", with a maximum score of 8.0 and a minimum score of 5.0, while in group "B" an average initial value of 6.4 was obtained, with a maximum score of 8.0 and a minimum score of 5.0. We obtained an average of 3.1, SD ± 1.0 against a mean of 4.2 SD ± 0.6 of group "B" with a statistically significant value (p <0.01). Conclusion: it is necessary to carry out research with a larger sample, for the establishment of the efficacy of hypnosis since it has no side effects, nor risks of adverse reactions, reducing the expense in medication associated with conventional medical treatments.

    ABSTRACT:

Introduction: Primary immunodeficiencies are genetic disorders of the immune system, which result in a wide variety of clinical manifestations, most often manifest at an early age; and although a large part of these have an autosomal recessive hereditary form; it is not a necessary pattern in its natural history. One way to classify immunodeficiencies is in two categories: 1) the innate system (alterations in complement and phagocytic cells) and 2) adaptive system (including mechanisms of the humoral and cellular system) (Bonilla et al., 2005). However, the most recent classification is that of 2015 proposed by the "International Union of Immunology Societies"; describing nine groups of diseases (Gutierrez Saborido et al., 2016). The wide variety of clinical manifestations and the low prevalence of these make them a challenge for the clinician who needs a high suspicion, where manifestations such as diarrhea is usually variable and this may be of infectious or autoinflammatory cause (Hernandez Martinez et al., 2016). Objective: To present the case of a patient with a primary immunodeficiency, a 2-year-old male patient who started the approach from a seemingly chronic diarrhea without evidence of another manifestacón. Observe in consecutive studies the periodic variation in the levels of Absolute neutrophils which were related to diarrhea. Conclusion: The approach of an immunodeficiency; Whether primary or secondary, it is always a challenge for the general practitioner and for the pediatrician; in this case, from an infectious recurrence and a finding in laboratory studies, the approach is initiated, however many of these clinical pictures are asymptomatic at the beginning or are only a finding at the time of the approach as in the case reviewed, however, was the chronicity of the diarrheic picture that did not suspect the relationship with immunodeficiency.

Background: Insects such as black soldier fly, Hermetia illucens are being considered as a new protein source for animal feed. Integrated development of innovative technologies for insect production using locally available agro-industrial wastes is necessary at present. Objective: To investigate the use of locally available agro-processing wastes namely palm kernel cake, maize bran, sorghum spent grain, soya bean waste and their combinations for maggots production. Method: Randomized complete blocs design with four repetitions was used. Statistical analyses were performed using SPSS Statistics 17.0 software. ANOVA was used to compare different parameters means and significant differences between the various treatments were set at P<0.05. Results: From 10 to 14 days after incubation, the percent length gained by the larvae varied from 15.34 % (palm kernel cake) to 35.2% (maize bran). There were significant differences in total weight and substrate productivity among the treatments. At 14 days after incubation, the average production of black soldier fly larvae from simple substrates varied from 152.25g (sorghum spent grain) to 446.87g (palm kernel cake). Conversion rate of the substrates to dry matter varied from 8.8% (sorghum spent grain) to 27.01% (soya beans waste). Conclusion: It can be concluded that soya bean waste, palm kernel cake and a mixture of the latter and maize bran could be the best substrates for producing H. illucens maggot for small scale producers.

    ABSTRACT:

Bangladesh has already achieved the status of a developing country in the world recently. To achieve the status remittance played an important role undoubtedly. But, earning remittance has become a very challenging issue at present both in home country and abroad. Most of the expatriates and their family members told their sufferings and despairs regarding earning remittances substantially. They cannot fulfill their entire expectations by receiving remittances. The study has been conducted quantitatively with a structured questionnaire though social variables are very difficult to be quantified and analyzed with the help of SPSS software. The study revealed the impact of remittance in the society of Bangladesh on the basis of some particular social variable and found remittance is destroying the societies in terms of social harassments in absence of expatriates in their families partially.

    ABSTRACT:

The luminescence and temperature response characteristics of NaYF4 containing 15% NaYBF4 were investigated. NaYbF4@NaYF4 has good thermal stability and excellent response characteristics in the temperature in the range from 300 to 500 K, which significantly increases the upper limit of temperature detection of ytterbium temperature sensor. A self-calibration relationship between the reciprocal of temperature and the natural logarithm ratio of luminescent intensity has been discovered. Compared with the values of ln(I1048/I976) or ln (I947/I979) in Yb3+ emission spectra, the relationship between ln (I990/I967) and 1/T is not linear, but exponential attenuation relationship with better temperature resolution near 400 K. Oxygen has no influence on these relations because of the ordered and dense crystal structure, which leading to the separation of Yb3+ and oxygen.

    ABSTRACT:

Background: Endodontically treated teeth are more prone to fractures than the vital teeth. Fracture occurrence is more in posterior teeth than anterior teeth as the masticatory forces are higher and teeth are weaker. In the late 19th century, the “Richmond crown,” a single-piece post-retained crown with porcelain facing, was introduced to function as a bridge retainer, it incorporated a threaded tube in the canal with a screw retained crown. Objective: Prosthetic rehabilitation of fractured central incisor following endodontics treatment. Method: Endodontic treatment of the fractured tooth followed by post space preparation and finally rehabilitating with Richmond Crown to make it esthetically pleasing. Conclusion: Wherever remaining crown structure is insufficient to retain full coverage crown then post and core is necessary means to increase retention and resistance form of tooth.

    ABSTRACT:

Mangalore Special Economic Zone was established in February 2006, promoted by the Central and State Governments, financial institutions and private entrepreneurs. The MSEZ project has been proposed over a total area of 3,985 acres of land of Dakshina Kannada District, in Karnataka State. MSEZ Limited about 2207.23 acres of land was notified and acquired from the villages like Permude (780.18), Kalavaru (482.35), Thokooru (303.67), Bajpe (606.6), Kulayi (19.9), Sajjpa(1.03), Parambooru (3.47), Idya (.25), Narikombu (1.65), Kasab (4.29) and Sara (3.84). According to the field survey 63.9 percent of the responded they are not satisfaction with the MSEZ compensation because the compensation amount its less than the market value and they are not happy with the value of their houses. About 30.9 percent of the respondents they are not happy with the infrastructure facilities of rehabilitates areas because the infrastructure facilities are very poor condition and MSEZ failed to provide basic infrastructure for them. Still there is lack of infrastructure problems facing the rehabilitators such as drinking water, power, transportation , drainage, lack of quality road, no health facilities and education institution etc. The data reveals that 16.9 percent of the respondents got more than 50000 and within 1 lakh per annual. Out of the sample size 43.9 percent of the respondent’s annual income is above 1 lakh per year. Its clearly shows that Majority of the farmers standard of living not improver as much as possible due to so many litigation in the process of the MSEZ activities.

Introduction: Wearing sterile Latex gloves provide an essential protection to both surgeon as well as the patient and thus prevent disease transmission from surgeon to patient and vice versa. The risk of transmission of pathogens such as hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, and Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) from infected patients to the operating surgeon as well as from surgeon to patient has lead to attention on the reliability of intact surgical gloves in preventing contact with the patient’s body fluids. Material and Method: A prospective study was conducted at Government Medical College Jammu with the objective to assess the incidence of glove perforations in routine as well as emergency surgery after wearing double gloves in the surgery. The perforation was assessed by leak test performed on the gloves collected from whole of the surgical team. Result: Gloves of 96 routine and emergency operations (56 open surgeries, 40 laparoscopic surgeries) were studied. In all; 270 gloves were examined. 24 out of the 270 gloves (8.8%) had one or more perforations. Our study documents gloves of principle surgeon, during open surgery of prolonged duration had higher incidence of perforation. The water leak test detected all the perforated gloves. Conclusion: In view of the increasing importance of safety at work, it is recommended to use double gloves, in both emergency and routine surgery as it is safe and may reduce transmission of hepatitis B, hepatitis C, and HIV. The other glove will protect the Surgeon from contact with body secretion of patients despite one of the two gloves being perforated.

    ABSTRACT:

The accounting information in order to be useful in making financial decisions should be relevant and comparable. To achieve the comparability of accounting information, accounting principles used by companies around the world must be similar. For this reason, the national accounting systems of the counties need to be harmonized and support the same accounting principles and standards. In this paper we are trying to analyze the accounting systems of the European Union countries that belong to Euro zone. The results indicate that differences in accounting practices, do exist and these differences cause problems for a wide variety of groups, organizations and individuals.
