    ABSTRACT:

The study examined pain reduction level of patients with knee osteoarthritis after a 12-weekexercise programme: Coronavirus prevention protocols implication. Lack of physical activity is associated with muscle weakness, pain, joint stiffness, decreased range of motion and general deconditioning which lowers immunity. The research design is quasi- experimental. Sample consist of randomly selected 100 knee osteoarthritis patients, age range of 25-85 years, clinically diagnosed with mild to moderate knee deformity, without record of knee surgery. Height, weight, BMI were recorded. 6 Minutes’ Walk was administered on participants for 12 weeks. A self- designed questionnaire was administered. Findings revealed that most participants were females (73%); aged above 50 years (48%); BMI≤25 (79%); can do moderate to vigorous PA without fatigue after exercise (91%) and moderate pain reduction level (57%). The result of r=. 1110, n =100, P=.278 revealed no statistically significant relationship between exercise and participants’ pain reduction level and no joint contribution of demographic variables. Since most participants were able to function in moderate to vigorous PA after the walk, regular daily walk is hereby recommended, notwithstanding Coronavirus prevention protocols.

    ABSTRACT:

This article was developed with the purpose of presenting a methodological alternative for the teaching-learning process of indefinite integrals using Maple mathematical assistant at the 1st year of Mathematics Teaching course at ISCED-Cabinda, in order to minimize the difficulties found at this level such as students’ lack of motivation in relation to the mathematical content taught in the traditional classroom, the failure to achieve satisfactory results intended in the teaching of indefinite integrals, incomprehension of the concept of indefinite integrals, the lack of mention about the application and the relationship between the indefinite integrals and the daily problems of society, limited contents in the 12th grade Mathematics manual and insufficient solved and proposed exercises regarding the indefinite integrals, lack of adequate didactic and bibliographic material for the teaching-learning of these contents, lack mastery of integration rules and techniques in learning, the non-use of information and communication technologies. In this regard, a questionnaire was applied and 5 teachers and 145 students were interviewed, whose collected data were processed by the SPSS statistical software, which allowed the elaboration of a methodological alternative, in order to favor the teaching-learning process and guiding teachers in reducing these difficulties. The alternative was validated through its implementation, with various activities that students were able to carry out in the classroom, and by some teachers, masters and doctors in Mathematics, who favorably approved it as distinct.

    ABSTRACT:

This study deals with the use of games to promote communicative skills in English as a Foreign Language (EFL). It results from the problem statement that follows: teachers do not use the best methods or techniques in order to teach the English language. They do not use techniques that really meet the pupils’ needs. The study investigates the effectiveness of using games in the teaching/learning English as a Foreign Language. It aims at finding out whether this teaching technique helps learners to effectively learn English and well remember new words and structures. The sample of this study was made of 5 teachers and 45 tenth grade pupils at Padre Builu one of Secondary schools in Cabinda. Using the qualitative method, the researcher used questionnaires and classroom observation in order to collect data. At the end of the research, most of pupils acknowledged the importance of using games in classroom. The results proved that while using games, learners unconsciously learn grammar structures and new words; learners’ participation in the lesson is encouraged, interaction among the learners is promoted, etc. In the light of these findings, the researcher really recommends the use of games to all teachers of English in Cabinda. They will arouse interest in learning and help pupils to make noticeable progress in English language learning.

    ABSTRACT:

Background: The aeLASTIC training method is a functional training in orthostatic position. It was first described in 2016 as a mechanical application of the Lyapunov Stability (LME) law. The aeLASTIC tool allows working on muscle balance to improve postural balance. Aim of the Study: The application of aeLASTIC training can introduce a proprioception to maintain the body in a steady posture after using this training in a 20-minute workout twice a week for two weeks. Methods: This is a pilot study with 24 healthy students (18-25 years old of Perugia University Department of Medicine and Surgery- Sport Science, males and females) which were divided into two random groups (12 students each). Group A had been proposed a 20-minute aeLASTIC training workout twice a week for a period of two weeks. All the subjects were evaluated with a Spinal Mouse, which allows scientific respect for research: repetitiveness of the test, non-invasive, rapid execution, and immediate evaluation. The two evaluations were proposed at the beginning of the class and 45 days later. During the experiment, two measurements were examined during a Mathias test: one of the total segment in sagittal position; the other one of the lumbar segment, also in sagittal position. The data collected was compared between the two groups: group A, those who have exercised with the aeLASTIC training and group B, the control group. The data was gathered with a two-tailed Student’s t-test. Variations were analyzed by paired Student’s t-test. Statistical significance was accepted at a 0.05 level of probability. Data were analyzed by SPSS statistical software, version 22.0 (SPSS Inc., Chicago, IL, USA). Results: The comparative study of Group A (aeLASTIC training) and Group B (controls) showed a significant difference in the post test value in scores between the two at P=0.0001. There is an improvement in training in the total segment during the Mathias test. Also an improvement of the lumbar segment during the Mathias test between Group A and Group B was observed, showing an improvement in both groups. However, when comparing the data, a superior reduction of lumbar segment in Group A (aeLASTIC training) can be seen. Conclusion: 20 minutes of work with aeLASTIC training, twice a week for two weeks in orthostatic position, have a positive effect on the spine and posture and to activate the abdominal muscles.

    ABSTRACT:

Subject description: Groundnuts (Arachis hypogaea L.) occupy an important place in traditional farming systems. However, yields in dry African savannas are less than one ton per hectare in extensive cultivation. These low yields are due, among other things, to precarious rainfall conditions, to the low distribution of improved varieties, but also to the non-development of local plant potential. In fact, compared to local cultivars, very few studies have been made. The exploitation and enhancement of this local phylogenetic potential could contribute to improving the production and productivity of peanuts. It is in this perspective that our work is part of a genetic analysis of the characteristics linked to the yield and resistance to leaf-spot disease of local peanut ecotypes. The general objective of this study is to evaluate the performance of local peanut ecotypes collected in three regions of Burkina, by field screening in order to identify the genotypes resistant to leaf-spot and having good yields. Method. The experiment was carried out for two years and at two sites Gampela and Farakoba according to the completely randomized three-repeat Fisher block experimental design. Emergence, stocking density, height, wingspan, disease severity, percent defoliation, and yield components were noted. Data from all observations were analyzed using XLSTAT Pro 7.1 statistical analysis software. Results. At the end of this study, we could identify two (02) resistant genotypes and three (03) moderately resistant genotypes to leaf-spot. Conclusions: These resistant genotypes are an addition to the list of resistant varieties and could be used as a source of resistance in a variety improvement program.

    ABSTRACT:

Back ground: Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting is a surgery to replace blocked arteries with healthy blood vessels and failure to fully evacuate a hemothorax post coronary artery bypass graft can lead to development of fibrothorax. Fibrothorax restricts the lung, and can begin as early as 1-2 weeks after the surgical procedure. Patients with fibrothorax report initial dyspnea. For mechanically ventilated patients, progressive difficulty with adequate ventilation due to restrictive lung mechanics can be seen. Aim of the study: The aim is to prove the effect of using Forced Expiratory pressure techniques with deep breathing exercises on wound drainage, decreasing length of stay in ICU, decreased time of TT insertion and improvement of Lung Compliance. Materials and methods: 40 male overweight Post Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting patients their age ranged between 55:65 years old were recruited from CardioTech open resuscitation unit were divided into two equal groups in number group A (20 patients) (study group) and group B (20 patients) (control group). Pre and Post assessment was performed for both groups in the form of percentage of change of fluid exudates from mediastinal and left intra-pleural thoracotomy tubes and percentage of change in peak cough flow. Both groups have performed 3 sessions two in the second day postoperative and one on the third day in the form of percussion, vibration, shaking, deep breathing exercises, incentive spirometer, acapella and circulatory exercises with adding 10 minutes of forced expiratory techniques for the study group. Results: showed no significant difference in both groups in fluid exudate from Mediastinal tubes where mean % of change for treatment group was 6.53% and that for control group was 5.08% with p value of 0.355 and also showed significant increase in % change in Left intra-pleural fluid level in treatment group with mean of 12.69% over control group with mean of 5.23% with p value of 0.001. Conclusion: Adding forced Expiratory Techniques to traditional physical therapy treatment may enhance wound drainage only in left Intra-pleural thoracotomy tubes and nearly has no effect on Mediastinal ones in Post CABG patient or his cough strength at all.

Assam is known for its tea and tea industries. Women workers are an asset and backbone of the tea industry, from planting to plucking women are 150% more efficient than the males (Koshy and Tiwari et al, 2011) and despite their contributions women workers in the production of tea have always been relegated to the bottom strata and considered the most abundant and cheapest labour force rather than as a source of specialized labour. Women Workers still earn low wages other unorganized sectors; suffer from low levels of health care and personal well-being. Less importance and recognition is given to the women’s of tea tribe community in spite of their immense contribution towards the tea production. The objective of the study is to understand the struggles of tea community women and their contribution behind “a cup of tea”’.

Background: The Insurance sector is ladened with the sole responsibility of risk bearing and management. This is very important to any economy especially the developing economies like Nigeria where there is absence or little presence of enabling environment for businesses, low life-expectancy and wavering government policies. It is also important for the Insurance sector to stay alive to perform the duty of rescuing the economy from peril. For the sake of sustainability, Insurance companies must decide on what processes to focus on to drive profitability. Objective: The aim of the present study is to examine the significant effect of three important concepts in insurance: Net Premium, Net Claims and Underwriting Risk as predictors of profitability. Methods: The data used was extracted from the NAICOM annual publication between years 2010 to 2016. All data for available insurance companies published in the NAICOM report were used. Three models were fitted from multiple OLS and the stepwise regression analysis. Results: Net claims and underwriting risk were significant predictors of profitability (p< 0.05) while the net claim is a negative confounder and not significant at predicting profitability of insurance companies (p> 0.05). Conclusion: The profitability of Nigeria Insurance companies within the examined years have been driven significantly by Net claims and underwriting risks while net premiums was not a determinant of profitability. Nigeria Insurance companies must pay attention to their risk assessment systems and not only the drive for premiums or sales.

Mucormycosis is a very aggressive invasive fungal disease. One of its type is the rhino-maxillary (RMM) type which predominantly involved nose and maxilla. Commonly, this disease occurs in persons with immunosuppression, diabetic ketoacidosis and those on antibiotics, steroid or immunomodulaters which are now commonly used in the Covid 19 treatment. Early diagnosis and prompt treatment can reduce the mortality and morbidity of this fatal fungal infection. In most of the cases more emphasis is given to Computed Tomography (CT) for the diagnosis, while the use of Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) is one of the most unappreciated imaging method in the early diagnosis of mucormycosis. CBCT is a comparatively recent scanning technology in dentistry, provides images equivalent to medical CT at reduced costs and radiation doses. This article explains the significance, use and the need of CBCT in the early diagnosis of RMM.

Disability is a prevalent phenomenon. Disability issues in Bangladesh remain at the backside of the development agenda for a variety of reasons. People in general, view incapacity as a curse and a cause of embarrassment to the family. These forget bars Person with disabilities (PWDs) from participating in ordinary economic, social and political things to do in their families, communities, vital offerings and education, etc. The present study documented economic and social factors that impeded their access to health care, education, leisure activities, future life chances etc. and also explored measures that may be taken to mainstream them. It will be difficult for Bangladesh to attain her development objectives without mainstreaming PWDs. The predominant goal of the research is to check the current reputation of the PWDs in Bangladesh so that possible action plans could be formulated in order to mainstream them in the national development.

Tanah Lot Tourism Attraction is one of the tourist sites that prioritizes Hindu religious culture and is managed with the principle of balance as outlined in the Tri Hita Karana concept. Tanah Lot Temple which originally functioned as a holy place for Hindu worshipers, but now its function is increasing as an object of cultural tourism. Traditionally, to enter the Tanah Lot temple, people wear Balinese Hindu prayer clothes, but now wearing recreational clothes, it is not a problem to enter the temple. The tourism culture is expected not to damage the culture of the Beraban Traditional Village which is inspired by Hinduism. Therefore, maintaining the existence of Hinduism means maintaining the sustainability of tourism in the Beraban Traditional Village. By believing in this religious meaning, the cultural changes that have been carried out so far have not deviated from the norms and values of Hindu religious teachings. Although the tourism culture seems very prominent to fill the space in the Beraban Traditional Village, religiosity remains firmly rooted in the life of the Indigenous village which is based on Tri Hita Karana.

    ABSTRACT:

The objective of this article is to study the Political thought of modern era Iranian thinkers according to the historical evolution of political thought in contemporary Iran influenced by modernity based on the theoretical framework of discourse. Iranian political thought continued for centuries (nearly 8 centuries) in the form of Islamic monarchy or just and religious sultan in Iranian society. This thought consisted of two components of Iranian and Islamic culture. This thought changed with the arrival of modern components in Iran in the contemporary period and in fact found modernity as other. During this period, the thinkers of the Iranian society had different attitudes towards modernity and caused the evolution of political thought in the Iranian society and as a result, they had different approaches to it. Some thinkers abandoned modernity entirely, some invited to adopt it wholeheartedly, some discriminated between good and bad elements of modernity, and others tried to provide a novel definition of Islamic-Iranian civilization based on the genuine civilizational backgrounds in each. Based on these approaches, were formed several political thought discourses in Iranian society. Each of these courses formed a tradition in political thought and founded its own discourse. In an evolutionary process, these discourses were born out of one another to perpetuate a tradition in political thought and respond to problems.

    ABSTRACT:

In urban and peri-urban areas, wastewater and sewage sludge are used without prior treatment to fertilise vegetable soils. To this end, sewage sludge treated with market garden waste was tested to evaluate the morphological performance and yield of tomatoes. Thus, the composts based on faecal sludge and market garden waste are T0, T1 and T2 (for respectively T0: composted faecal sludge alone, T1: compost with 2/3 faecal sludge and 1/3 market garden waste and T2: compost with ½ sewage sludge and ½ vegetable waste). For this purpose, a market garden bed set-up allowed a comparison of growth and yield parameters with a series of morphology measurements and fruit weighing at harvest. The results obtained over two tomato growing seasons revealed interesting morphological performances and appreciable yields found in the literature. In fact, in the first and second seasons, tomato plants that were fertilized with treatments T0, T1 and T2 showed greater height gain than the other treatments (non-composted sewage sludge (BVNC); chemical fertiliser (EN), no-input plot). Besides, between these compost treatments, T1 gives satisfactory results. With the yields obtained at harvest, the vegetable beds fertilized with T1 show the highest yields (27,718kg/ha) than the other treatments (no-input plot, T0 and T2 for 13076kg/ha; 22847kg/ha; and 24829kg/ha respectively).

    ABSTRACT:

The Moran ethnic is the aboriginal people of Upper Brahmaputra valley (presently Tinsukia District) and they originally worshipped Kechaikhati Devi in their traditional form of sacrifice.Under the influence of Mayamara Vaishnavism, they gradually gave up their old religious practices and adopted the rites and rituals of Mayamara Vaishnavism. The Tipuk Satra, a branch of Mayamara Satra, influenced their society in such a way that the tribal behaviours like jhum cultivation, sacrificing animals and scattered life style were gradually disappeared from their society. They entered to a disciplined life with the adoption of permanent nature of cultivation and establishment of social customs through satra culture
