Cattle ranching: A catalyst for livestock development in Cameroon, 1974-2010

Over the years, livestock breeding especially cattle ranching is considered as one of the major economic activity that has contributed to modernise and improve on the traditional system of breeding. Due to increasing demand of cattle and its by-products, there was absolute need to transform the sector in order to perk up the quality and quantity of cattle production. Thus, this paper seeks to examine how cattle ranching is percieved as a mechanism to boost livestock production.

This paper used qualitative research conducted through discussions with 30 consumers, and quantitative research conducted through direct interviews with 548 consumers.

Spatial assessment of accessibility to public services in Iraqi governorates using topsis model

The presence of public services in adequate level is a crucial factor to achieve economic welfare and social development. Based on this view, TOPSIS model was used in this paper to rank the governorates of Iraq in terms of spatial distribution of public services and changes within 2007-2012 have been evaluated. Methodology of this research is descriptive, comparative, analytical and questionnaires method. Data used in this research are taken from statistical book published under the title of IHSES.
