Effect of pelvic stability on balance in children with spastic cerebral palsy

Background: Children with spastic cerebral palsy have a pelvic instability which affect on balance ability. Purpose: to determine effect of pelvic stability training on balance in children with spastic cerebral palsy. Subjects and Methods: Thirty two children with spastic cerebral palsy participated in this study and divided into two equal groups,(control and study). Berg balance scale used for assessment before and after treatment.

Effect of body mass index on knee joint alignment in overweight and obese children

Objectives: A cross sectional study was conducted to assess the knee joint alignment in overweight and obese children, compare their findings with normal weight children and to determine the relationship between body mass index and deformities of the knee joint in the 3 groups. Methods: 220 children from both sexes with age ranged from 8 to 12 years were participated in this study. They were classified according to body mass index into normal, overweight and obese children.

Inhibition effect of acalypha wilkesiana leaf extract on pitting corrosion of ferritic stainless steel in acidic medium

The study examined the possibilityof using extract ofAcalypha wilkesiana (AW)leafas green inhibitor for ferritic stainless steel (FSS).This was obtained in 0.5 M hydrochloric acid using gravimetric and potentiodynamic polarization (Tafel plots). The inhibitor, temperature and time concentration ranged from 0–10 percent v / v at 2 percent v / v interval to 30–60 ° C at 10 ° C interval at 3-18 days within a space of three days.Qualitative and quantitative analysis and Fourier Transforms Infrared (FTIR) Spectroscopy technique were used to characterize the sample.

Phytochemical and spectroscopy analytical characterizations of Acalypha-wilkesiana leaf as green corrosion inhibitor

The study examines the characteristics of the plant leaf extract of Acalypha Wilkesiana (copper leaf) by phytochemical analyses, Fourier transforms the techniques of infrarot spectroscopy (FT-IR) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The leaf extract was obtained using maceration techniques in 1,5 liters of 70% ethanol and 30% distilled water as solvent. FT-IR was carried out using model-8400S Spectrophotometer Schmadzu machine whereas GC-MS model 2010 Plus Schmadzu was used to analyze the extract.
