Target gene-capture strategy for the cichlid subfamily pseudocrenilabrinae

The genome availability for cichlid species of the subfamily Pseudocrenilabrinae, including Oreochromis niloticus can help develop robust molecular tools to address questions related to the conservation and management of O. niloticus in its invasive range and O. mossambicus in its natural range. The objectives of this study include (1) identifying the best candidate orthologous genes among Pseudocrenilabrinae using gene ontology and a dedicated filtering strategy, (2) mining coding sequences for these candidate genes from O.

Improvement of cowpea (vigna unguiculata) seed germination by tremping techniques

Cowpea, Vigna unguiculata, has a prominent place in Senegal both for its nutritional benefits and for its suitability for adverse growing conditions. Studies were conducted on three cowpea genotypes with the objective of evaluating the effect of seed pretreatment with sodium hypochlorite (NaClO) and optimal water volume on cowpea germination rate. A completely randomized design with three replications was used with two factors: volume of water drenched, duration of soaking.

Effect of traditional versus interactive teaching strategies on student nurses’ academic performance at nursing schools, zamfara state, Nigeria

Nursing education thrives towards training nurses to enable them play their role in the professional health team to provide high quality services to society. This study was aimed at comparing the effect of Interactive and Traditional teaching strategies on Student Nurse’s Academic performance at Nursing Schools, Zamfara state. Quasi-experimental design of non equivalent was adopted with total of One hundred and twenty-nine students (129) recruited for the study. Purposive sampling technique was used access the participants for both study and control groups.

Natural resources, governance, government expenditure, and environmental sustainability in east Africa: A dynamic panel analysis

Global warming and carbon dioxide emissions are critical global challenges that threaten environmental sustainability. This study examines the impact of natural resources, government expenditure, governance, economic growth, industry, population growth, and agricultural emissions on environmental sustainability in Uganda, Tanzania, and Kenya in selected East African countries using data from the World Bank Indicators (1990–2023). Governance and environmental sustainability are represented by regulatory quality, the rule of law, and CO2 emissions, respectively.

Stress can cause several physiological changes. It can cause tension, pressure or negative emotions including anxiety and anger to the individual.
