Hence, this situation demands every dentist to get acquainted with this technology as the future of dentistry is abutting the implementation of its applications.

Covid-19: some myths and some facts

The rapid spread of a novel viral disease COVID-19 is a recent threat worldwide. The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared this health-threatening outbreak a pandemic in March 2020. The infection rate is enormously higher than any other known infectious disease in recent decade. In the US, the government alerts the whole nation to be prepared for disruptions in daily life to control the spreading of the coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2 causing the COVID-19.

Covid-19: many questions with some answers

Objectives: The rapid spread of the most virulent a novel virus SARS-CoV-2 has sparked alarm worldwide causing COVID-19, a viral respiratory disease. Comparative study between active management of the third period of childbirth with or without uterine massage at the hospital-university center (h.u.c) point g. bamako / mali

Aim: To compare the Active Management of the Third Period of Childbirth (AMTPC) with or without uterine massage in the obstetrics department of the C.H.U at Point "G" Bamako / Mali. Patients and methods: this was a randomized, open and controlled test which took place from May 1 to September 01, 2019 (4 months).Parturients in good health (without pathologies related to pregnancy with Glasgow 15 out of 15), consenting, carrying a pregnancy of at least 37 weeks of amenorrhea in presentation of the summit, coming to give birth were included.

Pediatric obesity, addiction and family dynamics: concept of co-obesity

Background: The obesity epidemic has been a crucial health concern over the past few decades. Multiple contributing factors have been identified at various levels: genetic, biological, environmental, social, economic etc. In many ways obesity presents some similarities with substance dependence and abuse. The term “co-dependency” originates from the realm of addiction. Co-dependency mechanisms can also appear between parents and children and enable obesity.

A rare occurrence of neuroendocrine carcinoma: case report and review of the literature

Introduction: Neuroendocrine carcinoma is an aggressive neoplasm with a high recurrence potential. Its location in the Sino nasal tract is considered a rare disease. CT and MR imaging features of these tumors are nonspecific. Paranasal sinus neuroendocrine carcinomas showed expansion and destruction of the sinus. Endoscopic examination is complementary to imaging and mandatory in order to reveal early stage tumour and its extension. Treatment recommendations for this entity vary considerably due largely to a lack of consensus and variable pathological classification.

Validation of the gaming addiction scale (gas) on Nigerian adolescents

A cross-sectional survey design utilizing an ex-post factor design was adopted to validate the Gaming Addiction Scale (GAS) using Nigerian secondary school adolescents. A purposive sampling technique was used to select the 338 (mean age and SD13.60 ±1.867) participants made up of 149 males and 189 females from several randomly selected secondary schools in a Local Government Area of Edo State, Nigeria.

Efficacy of use of with or without antibiotic therapy (regime) in extraction of asymptomatic tooth postoperatively: retrospective study

Aim: This study was done to evaluate the efficacy of the post-operative antibiotic therapy in reducing post-operative indiscriminate use of antibiotics and to evaluate whether it is important to give antibiotics regime in asymptomatic tooth extraction. Methods and Materials: The sample of 60 patients were selected in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery at Swargiya Dadasaheb Kalmegh Smruti Dental College and Hospital. Group A being the study group were NSAIDs given and antibiotics regime was excluded and Group B being the control group were antibiotics regime was given.

Levels and performance outcomes of participation in community-based tourism projects in the coastal region of Kenya

This paper examines CP levels and performance outcomes of four community-based tourism projects in the Coastal region of Kenya that has been witnessing a steadily increasing number of tourists. The attraction of visitors to this region has been due to its relatively well developed first class establishment that are juxtaposed in close proximity to pristine glistering tropical sandy beaches and world renowned wildlife attractions. The region is thus a major popular destination for international visitors, especially Europeans, North Americans, and in the recent past the Oriental Asians.

Holistic approach on dentistry post covid-19- critical assessment of literature

Background: An outbreak of novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in China has influenced every aspect of life. Healthcare professionals, especially dentists, are exposed to a higher risk of getting infected due to close contact with infected patients. Despite having a high standard of knowledge and practice, dental practitioners around the globe are in a state of anxiety and fear while working in their respective fields due to the COVID-19 pandemic impact on humanity.
