Assessment of the role of green tea use on oral health

Background and Aim: Streptococcus mutans (S. mutans) is the main etiological bacteria present in the oral cavity that leads to dental caries. Different preceding studies have recognized green tea to have anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antifungal, antioxidant, protein-denaturing, anti-mutagenic, anti-diabetic, anticarcinogenic, and antibacterial characteristics. The aim of our study is to investigate the effects of rinsing with 2% green tea solution for 5 min. on S.mutans count in both saliva and plaque and Gingival Bleeding Index (GBI).

Quality of life assessment by using whoqol-bref score among type 2 diabetic population coming to atertiary health care center of western uttar pradesh region: a cross sectional study

Background: Quality of Life assessment is considered to be as an important parameter for assessment of disease related outcome especially in context with chronic diseases like diabetes, which might have a negative impact on general wellbeing. In this study we have measured the QOL of patients suffering from type 2 diabetes by using WHOQOL-BREF score and also tried to assess the correlation of QOL with various demographic and laboratory parameters.

Adult orthodontics – a literature review

Aim: This article aims at giving a better understanding about the recent advancements used in the orthodontic treatment of adults. Background: Dentition is an important component of appearance. Ideal occlusion and spacing are the cornerstones of good dentition. Malocclusion not only affects hygiene and health of oral tissues but it can also lead to poor self esteem. There has been an increase in awareness about orthodontic treatment available for adults in recent years. This article aims at reviewing the different methods available for treatment of adult patients.

Risk factors for potentially inappropriate drug prescription in older adults

Background: The potentially inappropriate pharmacological prescription in older adults occurs when the risk of adverse effects is greater than the clinical benefit when prescribing a medication. Objective: Determine the risk factors for potentially inappropriate drug prescription in older adults. An experimental study on effectiveness of non-pneumatic anti shock garment among severe postpartum hemorrhage in 108 ambulances

Effectiveness of hyperbaric oxygen therapy on fibroblast proliferation for the management of diabetic foot

Background: Diabetic foot, an entity with great polymorphism, includes from minimal to catastrophic injuries like gangrene. Treatment is debridement, infection management, and revascularization procedures when indicated. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy improves tissue hypoxia and promotes fibroblast proliferation. Prevalence of schwannoma over 5 years- an institutional experience

Schwannoma is a benign tumor of the Schwann cells of the neural sheath. The exact cause is unknown, but it can occur due to any gene defect or associated with certain disorders. It is a non spreading tumor, and it commonly affects the head and neck region. The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of Schwannoma over the past 5 years with the help of an institutional data. Knowledge regarding the prevalence of Schwannoma is required when it comes to research purposes and it would be better when the treatment options are considered.
